Pretty trash, honestly — Reddit itself is fine, it can be diverting and interesting, but the app leaves lots to be desired. I’ve been unable to consistently expand nested comments under ‘view more replies’ for YEARS, which should be bare bones basic functionality. Bots and grifters have been allowed to explode in part due to the platform’s decision to allow hidden post histories (on a completely public forum? Why encourage the expectation of privacy where none is guaranteed?) I really miss third party reader apps like Narwhal that could save custom filters and searches to truly tailor the experience, and it’s wild to me that Reddit hasn’t implemented similar options all these years after shutting down competing apps. I guess when you have no competition, you have no motivation to improve
