It’s the unfortunate side effect of it proving to be the most profitable brand in the franchise and basically carried it for the last 14 years (and SEGA itself for some of it). A brand new series carries its own risk. I’d just hope if they ever do it’s not ANOTHER online game

I wish I had a more elaborate answer, but companies like Nintendo, Capcom, Sega, and maybe a few others have a good model of AAA gaming that's "working," these are mainly the big gaming companies I still have faith in and seem to be sustainable/profitable
